What should I wear?

We care about you, not your fashion sense.  Come as you are, whether it's your Sunday best or just the best you can do that day. Dress varies from casual to formal.  Coat and tie, business casual, jeans and a nice shirt, or your favorite sports team, etc.

Will I need to stand up and introduce myself or sign anything when I attend?

Children FAQ

What safeguards do you have in place for my children's welfare?

Every worker in children's ministry goes through a background screening. In order to better care for your child's individual needs, we have a check-in system in each childcare room. We also offer the ParentSEEKER pager system so that you may fully focus on worship, knowing with confidence that you can be notified immediately and discreetly when you are needed.

What curriculum is used for Children's Sunday Scchool?

Children's Sunday School uses Truth78 curriculum - www.truth78.org

Do you offer any services for children during the church service?

We offer nursery for infants and toddlers, as well as children's church each week for children through 3rd grade. On the 2nd, 4th, and many 5th Sundays, we offer CREW for 4th-6th grade kids - Children's Church / CREW

7th - 12th Grade FAQ

Do you offer separate worship services for teens during the Sunday morning worship service?

7th-12th graders join in with the worship service for all ages each Sunday morning. While we do have teen specific Sunday school and youth group nights at other times, we want teens worshiping, fellowshipping, and growing together with the larger church during worship service.

What is a typical ReaLife Youth Group Night like?

A typical youth group night includes hang out time with snacks, games, announcements, and singing worship songs with the 7th-12th graders together. Then we split off for the 7th-8th graders to have a message and small group time and the 9th-12th graders to have small group time. The messages and small group discussion times are Bible based, focused on how God's truth applies to teens' lives.

What is taught during Youth Sunday School?

We believe it is important for teens to have a solid foundation in the Bible, Christian beliefs, and the Christian life. You can see an outline of what we cover for 7th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade Sunday school here:  (youth Sunday school link)

What is the difference in focus between Youth Sunday School and ReaLife Youth Group Night?

Both have teaching based on the Bible. ReaLife Night includes time for fellowship, games, and worship, as well as teaching. The teaching at ReaLife Night is more directed toward how the Bible applies to teens' lives. Sunday school is more focused on building a foundation of knowledge of the Bible, Christian beliefs, and Christian life.

Do 7th-12th graders need to register before they come to a youth activity?

No. For most activities like Sunday school, ReaLife Night, or summer barbecues, there is NO need to register. Teens can just come! (Registration is only required for certain larger events or when transportation is involved.)

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

For many opportunities, the church will put out a call for volunteers -- people can just jump in. For specific ministry areas, as you see opportunities arise, you can talk to the leader of that ministry about ways you would like to help. (For some ministries, such as working with children, we require people to attend for 6 months before volunteering. See "How do I volunteer with kids?" below.)

How do I volunteer with music?

Here at Faith Evangelical Free Church, we have a vibrant worship team music ministry.  To volunteer, fill out the form on our Serve page, and check off Music Ministry. We will get you connected with one of our music ministry leaders.

How do I volunteer with kids?

Volunteering with kids to help them know and grow in Christ can be very rewarding! We take the care of kids seriously, so we generally require those who wish to be key volunteers with kids to attend the church for at least 6 months first. And we require a background check for our official adult volunteers. Teens can also become official volunteers after attending 6 months and being approved by the youth pastor. Those interested in volunteering can talk to the Kids' Clubs, Children's Church, Children's Sunday School, or CREW, or Nursery Leaders to find out more, or fill out the form on our Serve page, and check off Children's Ministry. We will get you connected to the right ministry leader.

How do I volunteer with students?

Volunteering with students is a great opportunity for teens know and grow in a relationship with Jesus. Because of taking this ministry seriously, we generally require those who would like to be key volunteers with teens to attend church here for at least 6 months first. We also require a background check for our regular adult leaders for Youth Group and Teen Sunday School. Other lower commitment opportunities come up along the way such as parents opening a home for teen BBQs, etc. Those interested in volunteering with students can contact our Youth Pastor, or fill out the form on our Serve page, and check off Youth Ministry. We will get you connected with the right ministry leader.
