Pastoral Residency
Program Overview
Our residency equips pastoral residents with the skills and experience necessary for thriving in ministry, particularly in the unique spiritual context of New England. You’ll partner with a vibrant congregation and a dedicated pastoral team to grow in your calling, character, and competencies for ministry while preparing for the long-term challenges of pastoral leadership.
Highlights of the Residency:
• Scriptural Focus: Grow in prayerful study of God’s Word to serve God’s people
• Preaching and Teaching Opportunities: Regular preaching and teaching locally and in partner churches
• Fostering Sustainable Patterns: Learn to be mindful of spiritual, relational, physical and financial health amidst ministry
• Pastoral Experience: Grow in pastoral care and practices, including planning worship services, conducting weddings and funerals, counseling and visitation
• Developing as a Leader: Work closely with pastors and elders in leading the flock
• Network Building: Attend ministry conferences and connect with regional church networks

Qualifications
• Meets biblical qualifications for church leadership (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9)
• Seminary graduate or near completion of an M.Div. (or equivalent)
• Agreement with our Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
• Aspiration to pursue pastoral ministry in New England after the residency
